Description:
The Sandwich Little League Opening Day Parade starts at noon in front of the Sandwich Police Department. All players and coaches are asked to meet their teams between the police and fire stations on Route 6A no later than 11:45 to get organized. Players should be in full uniform. Teams will line up behind the marching band in ascending order beginning with the 5-year old Tball division and ending with American League, Majors Softball and Sandwich Babe Ruth.
Parents should leave their kids with the coaches, and watch the parade from the sidelines. Teams will march east on Route 6A, down Jarves Street to Main Street, and proceed onto Dewey Avenue and Morse Road. The procession will enter AL2 from the center field fence, and assemble in the outfield at the edge of the infield dirt for opening ceremonies.
All the teams and band members will be provided lunch right after opening ceremonies. Coaches are asked to pick their teams lunches at the gazebo and find a place -- not on the baseball fields -- to gather for lunch. Games will begin at 2:00 p.m.
