Sandwich Babe Ruth Awards Night -
August 12th at Oak Crest Cove
Sandwich Babe Ruth will be hosting its Annual Awards Night from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Friday August 12th at Oak Crest Cove. Please join your fellow teammates and coaches in celebrating a very successful 2016 Season.
Awards for Top Pitcher, MVP, and Rookie of the Year will be presented to each Babe Ruth Team.
Every player will receive the 2016 Gateway Regional Yearbook!
The Sandwich Town Championship Trophy will be on display along with other tournament awards and a video presentation of the 2016 Season.

2016 Sandwich 14/15 U Babe Ruth Team Wins Mansfield Summer Classic
For the second straight year the 14/15 U Sandwich Breakers win the Mansfield Summer Classic. Manager Jim Ward lead his team to a decisive 13 to 5 victory over Southboro on Sunday July 10, 2016. Congratulations to the 2016 Sandwich Breakers.
SANDWICH BABE RUTH MISSION
The object of Sandwich Babe Ruth is to implant firmly in all participants the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for others. The goal is to provide an opportunity for children between the ages of 13 through 15 to play the game of baseball in an organized fashion and to have fun doing so.
ELIGIBILITY
Any Sandwich boy or girl who will attain the age of 13 years old prior to May 1, 2016 and shall not reach 17 years old before May 1, 2016 is eligible to play in the Sandwich Babe Ruth program.
GAME LOCATIONS
Sandwich participates in a joint program with the Southeastern Massachusetts Regional Gateway League.
Home games will be played at the Wing School field. Away Games will be played at participating Cape Cod team fields and a few fields off Cape throughout Southeastern MA.
TOURNAMENT PLAY
Traveling teams will be entered into selected tournament competition during July and August. A tryout process will select teams. Players will be selected on the basis of ability, attendance, attitude and willingness to play the game of baseball.
Some of the 2016 season preview highlights are as follows:
· Sandwich Babe Ruth will continue to be part of the Gateway Regional Babe Ruth League.
· The Gateway League has grown to more than 30 teams across the Cape, Islands and SE MA region.
· Efforts are underway to install safety fencing in front of the player benches at the Wing School Field
· Additional improvement efforts are under review as we move towards opening day.
